Online Dyslexia Tutoring Cost & Tuition

If you're researching the cost of online dyslexia tutoring, you're probably comparing programs to find the best fit for your child. While prices can vary widely, it's important to understand what you're receiving—not just what you're paying.

At The Successful Reader Tutoring, tuition includes far more than a weekly lesson. Every child receives an individualized reading program built around their unique strengths and needs using evidence-based Structured Literacy instruction.

My goal is to provide the expert instruction, personalized planning, and ongoing support that help struggling readers become confident, successful readers.

How Much Does Dyslexia Tutoring Cost?

Specialized dyslexia intervention is an investment in your child's future. While many tutors charge by the hour, I use a tuition model that reflects the comprehensive nature of the program and provides families with predictable monthly payments.

Monthly Tuition

55-Minute One-on-One Online Lessons

Frequency -- Monthly Tuition

Once per week-- $325

Twice per week-- $595

Three times per week-- $825

An Investment in Your Child's Future

I understand that specialized reading intervention is an investment many families weren't expecting to make.

As both a teacher and the parent of a child with dyslexia, I also understand how overwhelming it can feel to wonder if you're making the right decision.

Reading is the foundation for success in every subject. When children struggle to read, they often begin to lose confidence, avoid reading, and believe they simply "aren't good at it."

The good news is that with the right instruction, children can make remarkable progress.

Imagine where your child could be one year from now with consistent, individualized instruction designed specifically for their needs.

My goal is not simply to help children become better readers. I want them to become confident learners who have the skills they need to succeed in school and throughout life.

Every Lesson Is Designed Just for Your Child

Your tuition includes far more than the 55-minute lesson itself.

Every lesson is individually planned using a diagnostic and prescriptive approach. After each tutoring session, I carefully analyze your child's performance and use that information to design the next lesson specifically for them.

Before every lesson, I spend approximately 20–30 minutes preparing individualized materials that target exactly what your child needs to learn next.

Depending on your child's needs, I create:

  • Individualized lesson plans

  • Customized word lists

  • Spelling activities

  • Decodable sentences and reading passages

  • Multisensory learning activities

  • Personalized review materials

No two students receive the same instruction because no two students learn exactly the same way.

Rather than following a one-size-fits-all curriculum, every lesson is personalized to build on your child's strengths, address areas of need, and provide the right level of challenge for continued success.

This individualized planning, ongoing assessment, and expert instruction are all included as part of your tuition because they are essential to helping your child make meaningful, lasting progress.

What's Included in Tuition?

When you enroll, you're receiving much more than a weekly tutoring session.

Your tuition includes:

  • One-on-one online instruction

  • Individualized lesson planning

  • Ongoing assessment and progress monitoring

  • Customized instructional materials

  • Parent communication and lesson notes

  • Expert instruction from a certified structured literacy reading interventionist and dyslexia practicianer

  • An annual tutoring calendar

  • Two included Family Vacation Weeks

  • Reserved weekly lesson time throughout the school year

How Tuition Works

Tuition is based on enrollment in an individualized reading program rather than the number of lessons in a particular month. To make budgeting simple and predictable, annual tuition is divided into 12 equal monthly payments.

At the beginning of each school year, you'll receive an academic calendar showing all scheduled tutoring weeks, holidays, school breaks, and my planned time off so you can plan ahead with confidence.

Your annual tuition includes 41 weeks of personalized instruction plus two included Family Vacation Weeks—one during your family's spring break and one during the summer. These weeks may be used for family vacations or, when needed, to help accommodate makeup lessons.

Because all scheduled holidays, breaks, and Family Vacation Weeks are built into the annual calendar, your monthly tuition remains the same throughout the year—even though the number of tutoring sessions varies from month to month.

Your child's weekly lesson time is reserved exclusively for your family for the entire school year because consistency is one of the keys to successful reading intervention.

Missed Lessons & Makeups

If you know your child will be absent, please provide as much advance notice as possible. I will make every reasonable effort to reschedule the lesson.

Many makeup lessons can be accommodated during the two included Family Vacation Weeks. However, because my schedule is carefully planned around each student's reserved lesson time, makeup lessons are not guaranteed and are subject to schedule availability.

Lessons missed without advance notice are not eligible for a makeup.

If I need to cancel a lesson, I will always provide a makeup lesson or issue a tuition credit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do you use a tuition model instead of charging by the lesson?

A tuition model provides families with consistent monthly payments while allowing me to reserve your child's weekly lesson time for the entire school year. It also reflects the individualized planning, preparation, assessment, and communication that occur outside of each lesson.

Do you only teach students with dyslexia?

No. I work with students who have dyslexia, as well as other reading difficulties. Every student receives instruction tailored to their specific needs.

Is online tutoring effective?

Yes. Online tutoring allows me to provide the same structured, multisensory instruction I use in person while giving families the convenience of learning from home. Many students thrive in the online environment.

How often should my child attend?

Most students make the greatest progress when they meet two or three times per week. During your consultation, I'll recommend a schedule based on your child's age, needs, and goals.
